The Residential College (RC) is a living-learning community and academic program within the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA).

The Residential College (RC) is a four-year living-learning community and an academic unit within LSA. We are a Michigan Learning Community dedicated to helping LSA undergraduate students develop their intellectual interests and creative talents in a supportive environment.
With all LSA classes, majors, and degree programs available to them, RC students are encouraged to participate in academic and extracurricular activities, think critically about what they learn, reflect on experiences, and engage with both the University community and the wider world.
The RC welcomes a cohort of around 250 first-year students every fall to participate in our living-learning program. Housed in East Quadrangle for the first two years, RC students who complete a language immersion program along with several RC classes graduate with a degree from the Residential College.
LSA students who don't join the RC as first-year students are also welcome to declare one of our majors or minors, and experience the best of both worlds!

The RC Art Gallery
The Residential College Art Gallery hosts four professional artist exhibits every year along with two Student Showcases which allow students in the Visual Arts Program to present their work. Each exhibit is celebrated with a reception that welcomes the artist or artists to our space. Receptions are open to the public.
Gallery Hours: 9am-4:30 pm, Monday-Friday during the academic year. The public is welcome.
