Andrea is a dedicated and experienced RLL Spanish instructor at the University of Michigan, known for her versatile teaching portfolio. She has taught a broad spectrum of courses, including foundational language classes like Elementary Spanish (103, 231, 232) and advanced courses such as Spanish for Medical Professionals, Introduction to Translation, Writing and Composition, and Introduction to Linguistics. Additionally, Andrea has international teaching experience through CGIS in Alicante, Spain.
Andrea's academic journey at the University of Michigan began as a Graduate Student Instructor in Spanish, Russian, and Linguistics Departments. Following her graduate studies, she gained teaching experience at Eastern Michigan University and Oakland University before taking a Lecturer position in Spanish at Michigan. In addition to her teaching roles, Andrea has served as a Program Coordinator for the Weinberg Institute for Cognitive Science, reflecting her interdisciplinary expertise and interests.
Her passion for integrating technology into education underscores her commitment to enhancing learning experiences for both students and instructors. Andrea is also devoted to promoting collaboration among colleagues, as evidenced by her establishment and management of the RLL ShareFair. This event aims to facilitate the sharing of innovative ideas and best practices, fostering a supportive academic community.
