About
                
                Deborah Gordon-Gurfinkel is the founding director of Telling It and a Lecturer II at the University of Michigan’s Residential College where she teaches “Community Empowerment through the Arts” and “Advance Practice in Community Engagement through the Arts.” Gordon-Gurfinkel received an award from the National Endowment for the Arts to continue her work with children experiencing homelessness.  Other awards include finalist for the Roslyn and Jimmy Carter Award, semi-finalist for the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities’ Coming Up Taller Award and the Ginsberg Award for Outstanding Faculty Member.
