RC Players

The RC Players (RCP) is a student-run theatre organization at the University of Michigan. Every show is put on entirely by students: choosing the script, directing, acting, producing, building sets, sewing costumes, running lights and sound. If it happens on or behind the stage, a student did it.

Annual Productions

Evening of Scenes

A night of short plays and sketches written, directed, and performed by students, mixing original work with new takes on existing material. If you have an idea you want to test in front of an audience, this is the place to try it.

Red Eye

One of RCP's oldest traditions: a 24-hour theatre challenge. Writers, directors, actors, and producers meet Friday evening with nothing, and by Saturday night an original show is on stage. It's exactly as chaotic and as fun as it sounds.

Full-Length Productions

Each semester RCP also stages full-length plays, sometimes published scripts, sometimes original student work. These are the bigger builds, with full production teams on and off stage.

Get Involved

You don't need to be an RC student, and you don't need experience. RCP is open to all U-M students, in any role: acting, writing, directing, costumes, lights, marketing, or just meeting people who love theatre.

Board meetings are weekly and open to anyone curious. Email the Executive Board at rcp-eboard@umich.edu for more information.
