Get Involved

Be Part of What Makes the RC, the RC

The Residential College is a community made for students, by students. Whether you're welcoming prospective students, mentoring first-years, producing a play, leading a discussion group, or helping new students navigate orientation, there are countless ways to get involved outside the classroom. These experiences are a chance to meet people, develop new skills, explore your interests, and help shape the RC experience for future students. No matter how you'd like to contribute, there's a place to get involved.

Opportunities

  • Admissions Ambassadors: Give prospective students an honest look at RC life over lunch, on tours, and on panels. Sign up event by event.
  • RC Forums: Student-created discussion groups on almost any topic, some for RC credits.
  • RC MAP (Mentorship Among Peers): Mentor a small group of first-years through their first semester.
  • RC Players: Completely student-run theatre, open to all U-M students. Home of Red Eye, the 24-hour show.
  • RC Student Union: The student government of the RC, with a real seat at the table alongside faculty and staff.
  • Residential Advisors: Ten RC RAs live and work in East Quad, compensated with room and board.
  • Student Employment: On-campus jobs within the RC.
  • And more... check your email!

That's been the idea since 1967: learn by doing, in a community small enough that your initiative shows. See it in action at our traditions and annual events, or read where it comes from in our history.
