Don't Forget To Pack: A converter that you can plug into the wall when you get there.

Best Left At Home: Extra skirts or dresses. May be hard to make use of them if you are biking everywhere.

Best Eats in the Area: The Meatless District is amazing. Also if you are into fondue, Smelt is great and they have a great selection (including Dutch cheese).

Favorite Local Activity: Wandering around the canals and finding new bookstores

Where to Study: Can always go for cute cafes around town or for somewhere more upbeat like Kriterion...Depends how much you want to study.

Must-Try Local Dish: Not a dish but Stroopwafels!

Best Photo Op: For sure on one of the bridges that goes over a canal.

Your Biggest Fail: Biking in the wind (fell over very quickly).

Buy This: A month long public transport pass (if you plan not to bike as much). It will let you travel all around Amsterdam for a flat fee.

Not That: Fancy/artisan coffee that you can find everywhere around the city

Most Interesting Class: Sociological Theory at UvA! It was a fantastic class

Best Part of the Program: Meeting new friends from different schools (sometimes even from your home school) and building strong relationships that you can take back with you once you leave!

Unforgettable Weekend Trips: Dublin during Saint Patty's week! Also Berlin is a must.

Bonus Pro Tip/s: Pay extra for the basket when you rent a bike---completely worth it.
