The U-M Department of Sociology is proud to announce that PhD student Marnay Avant has been honored with the esteemed Gupta Values Scholarship. This distinguished recognition, established in 2017 by the Gupta Family Foundation, highlights graduate students who embody integrity, commitment to human dignity, and a dedication to excellence.
The Gupta Values Scholarship Fund aims to uplift exemplary graduate students across the university and includes a $7,500 grant for support during the spring/summer period.
Recipients of this scholarship will also have the unique opportunity to connect with the Gupta Family Foundation representatives and fellow Gupta Value Scholars from universities across the nation. This weekend gathering will take place in Washington, D.C., in April of 2025.
Congratulations to Marnay Avant on this well-deserved honor! We look forward to witnessing the remarkable contributions you will make in the field of sociology and beyond with your fellow Gupta Value Scholars.
