Congratulations to Graduate Student Angie Perone on receiving the 2015-2016 Henry Meyer Award, for her Paper entitiled: “Compton’s Cafeteria Riot: A Case Study of Collective Action, Empowerment, and Group Identity among Hypermarginalized Gender Nonconforming Communities”.
The major criterion for judging the paper is it's original contribution to empirical or theoretical literature in a manner that intergrates social work and social science. Such integration might involve the application of social science theory or methods to a social work problem, the clarification or challenge of theoretical or methodological issues in social science from a social work perspective, or other types of linkages.
