Joint Programs & Interdisciplinary Opportunities

The Department of Sociology offers highly regarded joint doctoral programs with the School of Social Work and the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy.

The University also enables students to craft unique interdisciplinary doctoral programs. Students have worked on joint doctoral degrees with the Stephen M. Ross School of Business, and have completed masters degrees in statisticslaw and public health while in the program.

Furthermore, the University maintains strong and vital interdisciplinary programs in Women's and Gender Studies, Latino/a Studies, Afroamerican and African Studies, and American Culture, and many of our faculty and students actively participate in these programs.

The openness of the University to interdisciplinary scholarship is unique, allowing our faculty and students to combine disciplinary excellence with exceptional international and interdisciplinary opportunities.
