Steven Kurtz is a PhD candidate in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, working primarly on novels and film from 20th-21st century France. His dissertation, titled Immunity and Domestic Space in Contemporary French Fiction, examines relationality and belonging in literary representations of domesticity with a focus on metaphors of immunity and illness.
