About
Javier Entrambasaguas Monsell earned his doctorate in Spanish Cultural Studies at the University of Michigan in 2011. He also earned a degree in Law at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain. Since 2004, Javier has been teaching a wide variety of innovative courses in which culture, politics, and history intersect, such as Spanish Law and Culture, Spanish and Latin American Film, and Reading Spanish History through Graphic Novels. In these courses, students not only examine social problems (e.g., economic disparities, gender inequalities, and racial discrimination) but also think about solutions. Overall, Javier's academic career has been marked by his passion for instilling critical thinking and empathy in his students.
