About
I earned my MA (in French) and PhD (in French Interdisciplinary Studies) from Michigan State University in 2004. I spent my tenure at the University of Montevallo (Alabama) where I taught introductory language courses and upper-level content courses for French majors and minors. Some of my favorite classes to teach were: Phonetics, Cinema, and Methodology. In 2011, I was awarded the College of Arts and Sciences Teacher of the Year.
Much of my research involved second language acquisition. I am facisinated by how students learn a second language, and I have conducted many classroom-based studies.
During Covid, I moved back to my homestate of Michigan, and was hired to teach French at U of M! I am thrilled to be part of this department, and I hope to share my passion for the French language and Francophone culture with my students. ALLEZ LES BLEUS!
