Doctoral Candidate Vincent Longo published an article in the most recent issue of Journal of Cinema and Media Studies Teaching Dossier (Volume 5, Issue 3) dedicated to audiovisual essay pedagogy. His essay, “Relative Radicalism: Creating Formally Experimental Assignments Grounded in Argument” critically reflects on strategies used in FTVM 150 for designing audiovisual assignments which encourage students to produce analytical arguments about media not primarily reliant on verbal explanation, but instead on audiovisual editing and short bits of onscreen text.
