Oliver Thornton took home two Emmys from The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (Michigan Chapter) 40th Emmy® Awards earlier this summer. Both were for the promotional video Thornton wrote for Michigan Football last fall entitled The Victors: Hail (produced and directed by Ty Rogers, Multimedia Coordinator of Michigan Football).

The Emmys were awarded in the Sports - Program Feature/Segment  and Writer-Short Form categories. 

Thornton's Inside Grand Hotel was nominated for Documentary - Cultural (with Matthew Stinson, FTVM '10 and Tina Brunn, F&VS '99), and his film A New Day In Detroit (about the construction of Little Caesars Arena) was nominated for Documentary - Topical and Program Writing (with James Graessle, FTVM '12).
