Juan Morales is a senior FTVM major and screenwriting sub-major from Lansing, Michigan. From an early age, Juan was immersed into fantastical classics like King Kong and The Wizard of Oz and grew up in awe of the cinematic world-building from directors like Peter Jackson and Gore Verbinski. When it came time to decide on a career path, Juan knew that he wanted to make a career out of building worlds of his own.

After studying Digital Media, Audio, and Cinema (DMAC) at Lansing Community College, Juan transferred to U-M in 2022 to pursue a degree in FTVM. Since transferring, Juan has taken part in multiple student clubs and organizations to coincide with his film studies. These have included being credited in five short films through production group M-agination Films, producing video content for The Michigan Daily, and serving on the E-Board for the Undergraduate Entertainment and Media Club at Ross. As of Fall 2023, Juan has wrapped production on the short film titled Disconnected, which he wrote and directed.

Juan is a third-generation Mexican-American and upholds the importance of representation on both sides of the lens.
