Elena is interested in unraveling ancient environments and landscapes. Specifically, she investigates temperature and water stress in the Late Jurassic Western US (Morrison Formation) and the Miocene Atacama Desert using clumped and triple oxygen isotopes.

Outside of work, she likes baking,

Knitting, reading, and taking

Long walks through the woods

(Sometimes eating baked goods) —

All this whilst limerick-making.
