Meet Our Peer Mentors!
Roxy Perazzo is a junior double majoring in Physics and Earth and Environmental Sciences. She is aware of how difficult it can be to find your path and is eager to guide others in discovering their passions. In particular, Roxy looks forward to discussing connections between your classwork and your big-picture goals.
What would your biggest piece of advice be for someone considering a major or minor in EARTH? Explore! There is so much variety in the coursework offered by the EARTH Department and you never know what will excite you.
Ava Nelson is a senior double majoring in Program in the Environment and Earth and Environmental Sciences. Ava is excited to help students better understand how to navigate the system and recognize the immense opportunities the department has to offer so they can take full advantage of them.
What is your favorite experience so far in the Department? My favorite experience so far has been Camp Davis. While it was one of the hardest things I have done, I learned an immense amount of knowledge across a wide range of topics, and met a great group of people. My picture is one of my favorite memories at Camp when we saw a double rainbow on the Fourth of July!
Robert C. Davis is senior double majoring in Earth and Environmental Sciences and Program in the Environment. He is looking forward to connecting with others in the community and talking wtih them about undergraduate research, nurtrient cycling, and aquatic geochemistry.
What is your favorite experience so far in the Department? My favorite experience was working at Earth Camp over the summer.
Zandra Curley is a junior double majoring in Earth and Environmental Sciences and Biology. She has been working in the Department office for a while, and appreciates the opportunity to work with other EARTH students to ensure they have the resources they need to both identify what they want to do and know what the steps are to accomplish their goals.
What would your biggest piece of advice be for someone considering a major or minor in EARTH? I would recommend exploring different topics early in your college career to get a sense of what you're most interested in so you can tailor your experiences, opportunities, and classes within the Department to suit your interest while there is still lots of time.
