Transfer Credit

The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences allows students to take and transfer courses from other institutions to UM for prerequisite and major credit through the departmental approval process (see below). Transfer courses may be applied toward your major, but at least 15 of your total credits for the Earth and Environmental Sciences major (minimum 30) must be from EARTH courses completed in residence at UM. At least nine out of the 15 credits for a minor must be taken in residence.  Approval for credit of courses transferred from another institution toward the Earth and Environmental Sciences major requirements must go through the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.
