We would like to announce the establishment of the Kevin Wood Memorial Graduate Student Fund. This fund has been created in memory of our friend, colleague, and mentor, Professor Kevin B. Wood, as a tribute to his collegial and scholarly pursuits. Professor Wood was an esteemed member of our academic community, whose influence extended far beyond the classroom. Notably, he was admired for his unwavering dedication to teaching and mentoring both graduate and undergraduate students.

The Kevin Wood Memorial Graduate Student Fund is dedicated to supporting graduate students in the field of biophysics, continuing Kevin’s lifelong commitment to fostering academic growth and professional development. Support may include funding for travel to conferences, specialized research endeavors, and career development opportunities, enhancing academic experiences, and furthering professional aspirations in Kevin’s honor.

We have made the Kevin Wood Memorial Graduate Student Fund our fundraising priority for the upcoming U-M Giving Blueday on March 19, 2025. We invite alumni, friends, and community members to join us in honoring Kevin’s life and legacy by contributing to this fund on this special university-wide day of giving. Each gift will ensure that Kevin’s passion for student advancement continues to inspire and empower future leaders in science.

Please mark your calendars for Giving Blueday on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, and consider supporting the Kevin Wood Memorial Graduate Student Fund. For more information, and to access the unique link to our Giving Blueday giving site when it becomes live, please visit our Giving Blueday 2025 web page.
