Julia Bourg (4th year graduate student in the Meiners lab) awarded the Willie Hobbs Moore Trailblazer Award!
On Wednesday, 3/25, there was a luncheon hosted by Women in Science and Engineering and GradSWE (with organizational support from SWIP) honoring Willie Hobbs Moore, who received a PhD in Physics from the University of Michigan in 1972, becoming the first African American woman to receive a PhD in Physics at any institution in the U.S.
This award recognizes Julia's efforts in establishing an open, supportive and progressive STEM research environment. She also presented the amazing work that the SWIP History Committee is doing as the keynote presenter for the luncheon.
