The Center for World Performance Studies presents Autophysiopsychic Millennium in residence March 28-30, 2023, culminating in a public performance at the Keene Theater. Autophysiopsychic Millennium is a creative research music collective that explores, experiments, and studies the music methodology, and philosophical and spiritual works of the late Dr. Yusef abdul-Lateef.

As a collective of Black and BIPOC musicians, Autophysiopsychic Millennium is pushing back on the use of the over-commercialized term “jazz,” and reclaiming the genre through the teachings and wisdom of Dr. abdul-Yusef Lateef, who was a deeply spiritual intellectual and stressed the depth and intentionality of this music.

Curated by Detroit's LuFuki and Chicago’s Angel Bat Dawid and Dr. Adam Zanolini, Autophysiopsychic Millennium presents educational workshops and performances (Sonic Convocations) in which participants are invited to intentionally engage as a way to bring Dr. Lateef's methodology into the new millennium.

If you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to participate in this event, please contact Center for World Performance Studies, at 734-936-2777, at least one week in advance of this event.
