The Alice Webber Glover Scholarship Award
Established in 1976 through a bequest by Alice Webber Glover, these competitive scholarships may be used to help with the special costs associated with the writing and/or production of student production projects
Award Amount: up to $2000.00
Eligibility: The project for which you are applying must be for a production in a FTVM course (including screenwriting, independent study and FTVM Honors) in which you are currently enrolled
Award Criteria:
1) Merit of proposed project
2) Quality of sample work submitted
3) Presentation and completeness of the application
Application Process:
1) Submit a completed online application form.
2) Upload the required documents, into a folder labeled with your first and last name, to Dropbox. Please also ensure that each of your uploaded files is labeled with your first and last name.
For production projects, please submit the following:
- a one-page treatment for a new project or a work-in-progress
- the script, if available
- Two work samples. Sample clips must be compressed to no larger than 1 GB per applicant. Moving image
files should be compressed as .mp4. - A budget detailing expenses (see Budget Guidelines and sample budget)
- a PDF file of your unofficial transcript
For screenwriting proposals, please submit the following:
- a one-page treatment detailing the proposed script’s plot, approach, theme, major characters, length, etc.
- a writing sample demonstrating that the applicant understands the conventions of screenwriting
- a budget detailing expenses (see Budget Guidelines and sample budget)
- a PDF file of your unofficial transcript
For studies projects, please submit the following:
- a proposal that includes a description or outline of the project
- a preliminary bibliography
- a sample of academic work
- a budget detailing expenses (see Budget Guidelines and sample budget).
- a PDF file of your unofficial transcript
The committee may elect to not make an award if no suitable applications are submitted. Funding is not guaranteed, and priority will be given to first time applicants. If a choice must be made between applications of equal merit, priority will be given to the proposal submitted by an applicant who has not received funds during the previous grant cycle.
