Austen Thomas attended the Society for Cinema and Media Studies Undergraduate Conference at Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania, where she had the opportunity to present her paper, "Yas Tolerance, Yas Acceptance: Queerness & Realness in the Queer Eye Legacy." Austen reflects on her experience: "Sharing my research with an attentive audience full of my peers was an extremely gratifying and insightful experience. I also got to listen to a wide-range of original lectures ranging from panels on the 'monstrous' feminine, exploring images of bodies and the unseen, historiography and rediscovering archives, and labor and capital across media. Discovering such diversity of thought in the areas of film, TV, and media was an experience I'll always value. Huge thanks to Dr. Phruksachart as well, for her help and encouragement."
