Donald Hall Collection Associate
About
Fred Beldin is the Donald Hall Collection Associate and serves as the public liaison to this remarkable archive of screenplays, films, and books on cinema. He brings an enthusiasm for disreputable genres, underseen films, and physical media to his role, as well as many years of experience working with the Ann Arbor District Library.
For three years, Fred was the Film Editor of Resonance, a nationally distributed arts quarterly based in Seattle. His writing on film, music and culture has appeared in print and online for publications like The Stranger, Paste, Film Threat, and Ugly Things, and he wrote the liner notes for Murder by Guitar 1976-1980, an archival CD collection of recordings by the proto-punk band Crime.
As a musician, Fred has performed with such acts as the End Times, the Great Tribulation, El Smasho, and the Seger Liberation Army. His compositions and performances can be heard on a variety of LP, CD and 7” single releases.
