About
Silvia Marchetti holds a Ph.D. in Italian Literature and a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Film, Television, and Media from the University of Michigan. Her areas of research include contemporary Italian literature and cinema, Shoah studies, migration and translation. She has published on Italian, European and American journals on various topics related to her research, mostly on the Shoah and migration. Prof. Marchetti has taught at American and Italian universities both at graduate and at undergraduate level. In 2009-2012 she was Visiting Professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies on Translation, Languages and Cultures of the University of Bologna, with which she continues to collaborate on some migration-related projects and where she periodically holds seminars on Italian cinema. She is now a diplomat working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of San Marino.
