Department Advisors
Communication and Media majors are encouraged to schedule an appointment with department advisor Kashmir Preston, or faculty advisors Jimmy Draper or Henry Seeger through the online appointment system. Students and prospective students are encouraged to meet with a department advisor early in their academic career to plan and discuss their academic goals. It is helpful to meet with a department advisor no later than the first semester of your sophomore year. Appointments for current U-M students are made by clicking on the "Schedule an Advising Appointment" button below.
Virtual Advising Appointments
To schedule a virtual advising appointment, simply use the online calendar and choose "virtual" as the format for the meeting. Follow the link in the confirmation email to meet with your advisor. The advisor will admit you from a virtual waiting room at the time of your appointment.
You can also schedule a phone appointment if that works better for you. Your advisor will call you at the number you submit when making the appointment.
Sometimes advising appointments can be complicated and go over the allotted time. Please allow for a five minute delay.
If you are no longer able to attend your appointment, please cancel it at your earliest convenience to allow advisors to meet with other students during that slot.
