Michigan Communication and Media Professionals (MCMP)
The department sponsors the Michigan Communication and Media Professionals (MCMP), an undergraduate student group open to Communication and Media majors and prospective majors. The organization meets on a regular basis in the fall and winter terms to explore career and internship opportunities in communication and media-related markets. A primary goal of MCMP is to provide a forum that encourages student leadership, social interaction, networking, and professional development.

Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ)
The Society of Professional Journalists is the nation’s most broad-based journalism organization, dedicated to encouraging the free practice of journalism and stimulating high standards of ethical behavior. Founded in 1909 as Sigma Delta Chi, SPJ promotes the free flow of information vital to a well-informed citizenry through the daily work of its roughly 6,000 members; works to inspire and educate current and future journalists through professional development; and protects First Amendment guarantees of freedom of speech and press through its advocacy efforts.
The Society of Professional Journalists, Ann Arbor is established to bring together student journalists and professional journalists in the area of Ann Arbor, Michigan for discussion about the significance of journalism in society, on and around campus and in pursuing a professional endeavor. WOLV TV
WOLV TV is student-run television at the University of Michigan. Housed in North Quad and sponsored by the Department of Film, Television, and Media, WOLV TV produces broadcast television-format programming in FTVM’s multi-camera Studio A. Currently enrolled students of all majors are welcome to join. No previous experience is needed, and new members will receive training for equipment and procedures. There are also plenty of opportunities for writing, field production, and editing. From news, to sports, to entertainment, to sketch comedy, and whether you want to be in front of the camera or behind it, there’s something for everyone at WOLV TV! The Michigan Daily
The Michigan Daily exists to inform the University of Michigan and the Ann Arbor communities about events and issues of consequence to the University and Washtenaw County.We will maintain an entirely independent, student-run newspaper because we believe a voice separate from the University ensures our ability to hold the administration accountable and protect our coverage from outside interests.We strive in all cases to uphold impartiality, fairness and the complete truth. WCBN-FM Radio
WCBN is the University of Michigan student-run community freeform radio station in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We broadcast at 88.3 FM to the University and its surrounding communities from the Basement of the Student Activities Building in downtown Treetown. We are governed by our Constitution.Our emphasis is on alternative broadcasting, that is, exposing our listenership to things they can't hear on other radio stations. UX@UM
UX@UM creates an annual conference for students by students. A two-day conference connecting design innovators with industry experts through user-experience papers, posters, tutorial sessions, and roundtables. The conference is a platform for all students to create and share their products, designs, and research in the area of UX. Members of UX@UM have the opportunity to work on all aspects of conference building, from scheduling amenities, to networking, to website design, to marketing.
