In Communication and Media, faculty and students examine mediated communication in human life from the individual to the global, including culture, politics, race and ethnicity, identities, history, health, environment, family, journalism and other media industries, and digital and social media, to name a few! Our graduates go into a variety of fields, including: Advertising, public relations, marketing, broadcast and print journalism, television and film production, book publishing, magazine editing and publishing, sports broadcasting, and public affairs. Some of our students progress directly on to graduate schools to pursue degrees in law, journalism, business, and communication and media.
The Department of Communication and Media is happy to connect our students to our extensive and successful alumni base. Through Career Exploration sessions and Shadowships students network with and learn from our alumni while finding their own paths as they move into the job market.
