Our department is pleased to offer three career exploration events through each academic year, as an opportunity for undergraduate students to meet and engage with prominent alumni in a variety of fields. We encourage our students to use these resources to network with other students and alumni and explore the vast array or career and internship options.
Our Career Exploration is divided into three categories in order to touch on all the different career interests of our students:
Entertainment Media – Television, Broadcasting and Production
Strategic Communication – Public Relations, Marketing and Advertising
News and Information – Journalism and News Media

Career Exploration with Brittany Kadin Schwartz

Details: Brittany is the Agency Partnership Lead at NBCUniversal Media, LLC. She graduated from the University of Michigan in 2012 with a BA in Communications Studies and has been working in Advertising Sales for 9 years in New York City. After graduation in May 2012, she started her career at Univision Communications, the leading Spanish-language media and content company in the US. Brittany has been at NBCUniversal since 2015, holding a variety of ad sales roles across news, sports, and currently Agency Partnerships. In her current role, she manages the upfront advertising dollars for one of the major agency holding companies. Some of her biggest clients include Amazon, T-Mobile, Johnson & Johnson, Subaru, and Coca-Cola. Brittany currently lives in New York City with her husband (Michigan ’11) and Goldendoodle, Griffey.

Details: Andy Sonnenberg is VP, Sales at Conde Nast, overseeing all Technology and Business category strategy, revenue and partnerships across the Conde Nast Portfolio, including 20+ iconic and
next generation brands, Condé Nast Entertainment (video studio) and CNX (in-house creative, content, talent and experiential agency). Before assuming the VP, Sales position, Andy oversaw
all revenue for WIRED Media Group, including WIRED and Ars Technica, two of Conde Nast’s most innovative brands. Prior to joining Conde Nast, he was Group Publisher of the Financial Services Division at Summit Business Media, then publisher of Investment Advisor, Wealth Manager and Research magazines in New York City. Sonnenberg received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Business from the University of Michigan. He currently resides in New Jersey with his wife Beth and two children Ashley and AJ.
