When should I begin the graduation process?
The graduation application process should begin the semester prior to your anticipated graduation; or 6-7 months prior to your anticipated graduation.
What is the graduation process?
To graduate, students should follow the steps outlined on Newnan's How to Apply to Graduate site.
- Candidates for fall graduation in December 2026 should begin this process in January 2026.
- Candidates for winter graduation in May 2027 should begin this process in September 2026.
Which Commencement ceremony may I walk in?

- Candidates for fall graduation in December 2026 may attend either the Winter Commencement (December 2026) or the Spring Commencement (May 2027).
- Candidates for winter graduation in May 2027 may attend either the Spring Commencement (May 2027) or the Winter Commencement (December 2027).
- Candidates for summer graduation in August 2027 may attend either the Spring Commencement (May 2027) or the Winter Commencement (December 2027).

Request a Major Release
A major release (also sometimes called a senior release) may be requested from the Department of Communication and Media by submitting the Major Release Request Form. Students will receive an email copy of their major release when their release has been submitted.
