Are you wondering what the real transfer student experience at U-M is like? Looking for advice on the best way to prepare for the academic rigor at U-M? Wondering what the most difficult part is to transferring to LSA? Wondering about the best places to eat, drink, exercise, and relax in Ann Arbor?
The Transfer Student Ambassadors can tell you what it’s really like to transfer to LSA. Read about their experiences in their own words and if you have questions for them about the transfer student experience join them for informal conversations to learn from their experiences, get your questions answered, and pick up some great advice.
The Ambassadors offer three ways for you to connect.
Join a panel of LSA Transfer Student Ambassadors to learn more about the transfer student experience. The Ambassadors will be chatting about the academic transition to U-M, how to get involved on campus, housing, all the amazing programs and support for transfer students, and any other questions that you have. Join us even if you don't have specific questions.
Panels are offered once a week. Check out the schedule here.
The LSA Transfer Mentorship Program helps prospective LSA transfer students by pairing them with a Transfer Student Ambassador mentor. The ambassadors are excited to share their experiences and help you navigate the transfer process through goal setting, navigating the application process, and connecting to valuable University of Michigan resources. When you sign up, the only expectation is to meet with your Mentor once each month. We will match you with a mentor who shares your academic background and interests as closely as possible.
The Mentorship Program is currently available for students studying at community colleges. Register for Mentorship.
If you are currently studying at a 4-year college or university, check back in a few weeks to learn more about mentorship opportunities for you.
The LSA Transfer Student Facebook page is a group moderated by current LSA transfer students. The group is a place for prospective, admitted, and recent transfer students to introduce themselves, ask questions, and share resources relevant to the transfer experience. The goal of the page is to allow students to see what their future could be like at the University of Michigan through connecting with others and learning about all that Michigan has to offer and to help current student connect with other transfer students.
