Why did you choose to transfer to the University of Michigan? I chose to transfer to the University of Michigan because of their excellent academic reputation and their specific programming geared towards creative writers.
Based on your personal experience, what is the one thing you want to tell new transfer students? Believe in yourself and believe that the University of Michigan will guide you towards achieving all of your goals.
How did you make friends and meet other students on campus? The LSA Student Transfer Center. They are always hosting events that foster a sense of community on campus that allows frequent opportunities for friendship!
What is your favorite part about being an LSA transfer student? The sense of community and belonging that accompanies being a transfer student is wonderful and the opportunity to study in depth what I love has been hugely rewarding both personally and professionally.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before transferring to the University of Michigan? I wish I had known how seamless the process would be and that there was nothing to be afraid of. There is help available for anything and everything. The University of Michigan truly cares about its students and their experiences.
Why did you choose your specific major(s)? I have loved reading and writing since I was very little and it was always my biggest dream to turn that creativity and passion into a career. The University of Michigan has Creative Writing and English programs specifically tailored for fiction writers and avid readers like myself. The classes are engaging and challenging and have helped turn my greatest interests into my greatest opportunities.
