Where did you transfer from? Schoolcraft College
Why did you choose to transfer to the University of Michigan? I believe education is more than grades and preparation for the workforce. I saw the curriculum offered by UM as a way to evolve as a person due to the variety of opportunities it provides its students with.
Based on your personal experience, what is the one thing you want to tell new transfer students? Advocate for yourself.
How did you make friends and meet other students on campus? Attending events that suit your interest is a great way to connect with others.
What is your favorite part about being an LSA transfer student? The content of the classes is very stimulating. There’s a lot of ways of looking at the world, and the classes at LSA do an amazing job at showing that in very nuanced and fun ways.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before transferring to the University of Michigan? Even with anxiety, fear, and everything in between, giving yourself the opportunity to believe in your abilities and try new things is very much worth it.
Why did you choose your specific major(s)? Love and friendship will save the world. Studying our societal structures to identify the root of oppression and marginalization is a start.
