Where did you transfer from? Schoolcraft College
Why did you choose to transfer to the University of Michigan? The main reasons I transferred to the University of Michigan are that it is the only university that offers my degree and for the broad amount of undergraduate research opportunities.
Based on your personal experience, what is the one thing you want to tell new transfer students? Based on my personal experience I would say breathe. You will have to work hard, but you are meant to be here. You are not less than anyone else, and this is an experience you have never had, so you will have to adjust. You will feel like you belong, but it will take time. You are right where you are meant to be.
How did you make friends and meet other students on campus? The main way I made most of my friends was class. I attended lectures and asked for contact info, and then I would meet up to study.
What is your favorite part about being an LSA transfer student? My favorite part about being a transfer student would have to be my unique perspective about academics and career goals.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before transferring to the University of Michigan? I wish I knew that I was going to have to teach myself how to learn. The way I learned before just isn't fast enough for the course load at U of M and what the professors expert of you.
Why did you choose your specific major(s)? I chose my major due to my fascination with the brain. I not only want to know the social science behind the brian, but also the natural science behind what we do and why we do it.
