Major: International Studies and Psychology
Hometown: Traverse City, Michigan
Where did you transfer from? Northwestern Michigan Community College
Why did you choose to transfer to the University of Michigan? Michigan offered the Go Blue Guarantee; also, there are so many opportunities and such a wide network I can be a part of and utilize in the future.
Based on your personal experience, what is the one thing you want to tell new transfer students? Join a club for a hobby -- you have to meet people to make this big school a little smaller!
How did you make friends and meet other students on campus? I found a good group of roommates to live with as well as joined a few fun clubs.
What is your favorite part about being an LSA transfer student? Being able to be a part of two communities -- I get to be an Owl Hawk and a Michigan Wolverine!
What do you know now that you wish you had known before transferring to the University of Michigan? Michigan students can ride the city buses for free. This makes it easier to be a little further from campus.
Why did you choose your specific major(s)? I have a strong interest in society and psychology, but I care deeply about human rights and love to learn about different cultures. International Studies gave me a good and flexible major that allowed me to explore all of these interests.
