Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) is a national organization, founded in 1971 "to encourage women and girls to study and to have active careers in the mathematical sciences, and to promote equal opportunity and the equal treatment of women and girls in the mathematical sciences."
The University of Michigan Student Chapter of the AWM was founded in the fall of 2016 to support women and transgender mathematicians, especially graduate students, in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Michigan.
Center for the Education of Women
At CEW+, we navigate circumstantial barriers by providing academic, financial, and professional support to help you reach your personal potential. Established to support women through higher education, we lift up women and all underserved communities at U-M and beyond. GSI Learning Community for Inclusive Teaching
GSI LCIT, or Graduate Student Instructor Learning Community for Inclusive Teaching, is for sharing ideas and resources about inclusive teaching through discussion and reflection. It is not a place to be lectured about how to teach, but to have discussions about inclusive teaching practices and strategies.. This community is made for graduate students by graduate students. To that end, we are committed to:monthly meetings with graduate student attendance (i.e., not their course coordinators or advisors)relatively short, free readings, accessible to grad students’ timePlease note that attendants are welcome and encouraged to simultaneously attend the U(M) LCIT, but it is not expected or required in any way.
The Spectrum Center at University of Michigan is a collaborative space in which all members of the university and local community are welcome. Through collaboration and partnership efforts, the Center supports students to thrive in a diverse society and globally. The center works toward enhancing the campus climate and support services for LGBTQ+ students, staff, and faculty at the university through education, advocacy, and community building.

Addiction Center - Michigan Medicine Department of Psychiatry
The U-M Department of Psychiatry is part of Michigan Medicine, one of the nation's leading health care facilities, and is home to the Eisenberg Family Depression Center and the Molecular and Behavioral Neurosciences Institute.
We provide patients with state-of-the-art treatment and care of psychiatric disorders, much of it based on the innovative research done by our faculty. Our psychiatric care facility is one of the best in the country, and was one of the very first to provide modern diagnosis and research on mental disorders

Campus Safety
The University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS) provides a variety of services and data to the campus community to provide a safe environment. Members of the UM community are able to sign up for emergency alerts and review emergency preparedness information, including how to respond in the case of an active attacker. Office of Student Conflict Resolution
The Office of Student Conflict Resolution promotes a safe and scholarly community in which students navigate conflict in a peaceful, socially just, and self-reflexive manner. OSCR offers a spectrum of conflict resolution pathways that are educationally focused, student-driven, community owned, and restorative in nature, which are adaptable to meet the needs of individuals experiencing conflict.

Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) provides emergency/urgent walk-in evaluation and crisis phone services available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for people of all ages. The following services are provided; psychiatric evaluation, treatment recommendations; crisis intervention; screening for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization and mental health referral information. Psychiatric Emergency Services is a program of the University of Michigan Department of Psychiatry. We collaborate with many community agencies.

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration

SAMHSA’s National Helpline, 1-800-662-HELP (4357), (also known as the Treatment Referral Routing Service) or TTY: 1-800-487-4889 is a confidential, free, 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year, information service, in English and Spanish, for individuals and family members facing mental and/or substance use disorders. This service provides referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations. Callers can also order free publications and other information.
Services for Students with Disabilities
The mission of the SSD is to provide accommodations and access to students with disabilities. Throughout its history, SSD has played a prominent role in advocating for students with disability issues at the state, national and international levels.
Sexual Assault Prevention & Awareness Center
The SAPAC Survivor Care Team consists of full-time, professional Case Managers and Advocates, and highly-trained U-M Master of Social Work interns. Our team is here to help, and provides a wide array of supportive services for survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, sexual harassment, and gender-based harassment. We are here for current U-M students, faculty, and staff who have experienced harm, and for their supporters and loved ones.
