Welcome, Sarah Heineken
The Department of Linguistics is delighted to welcome new staff member Sarah Heineken, who joined the department on October 21 as Student Administrative Assistant. Sarah will be assisting with admissions processes and other graduate student administration.
Sarah was born and raised in Ann Arbor. She recently graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Masters in Cross-Cultural and International Education and a TESOL Certificate. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in German Studies, Economics, and International Studies from Oberlin College. Her research interests include refugee education, teacher candidate training, and second language acquisition. Sarah was also a 2016/2017 Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Dresden, Germany. She is passionate about study abroad and is fluent in German, can speak beginner conversational Spanish, and is currently learning Dutch.
Sarah’s role will be divided between Linguistics and the Weinberg Institute, and she will be working in 440D Lorch Hall several days each week.
