Undergraduate Research Funding
Apply for Research Funding – submit an application here!
Academic Year Research Grants are available for undergraduates with declared Linguistics majors and minors as a resource for funding their own research projects and/or traveling to conferences at which they are presenting. Whether writing a senior thesis, preparing a writing sample for advanced degree applications, or just looking to gain potential job experience, undergraduates can apply for money to defray research costs on a rolling basis throughout the year. Students applying for these grants should have their faculty or graduate student supervisor submit a Research Funding Recommendation Form before applying for funding.
The Summer Stipend ($1,500) is available to students who propose a significant research project that would take at least 6 weeks to complete. The student must meet regularly with a faculty or graduate student supervisor and submit a written paper or report at the start of Fall Term. Applications for this stipend are due on April 1st each year. Students can apply for the summer stipend and request coverage of research costs at the same time. Students applying for the summer stipend are also expected to have their faculty or graduate student supervisor submit a Research Funding Recommendation Form before applying for funding.
