Linguistics Alumnus Tim Chou Receives 2017 Academia Sinica Research Award for Junior Research Investigators
Congratulations to U-M Linguistics alumnus Tim Chou (PhD 2013), whose paper on Sinhala syntax (co-authored with Sujeewa Hettiarachchi (PhD 2015) was awarded the 2017 Academia Sinica Research Award for Junior Research Investigators in Taiwan.
The award is meant to commend junior researchers (under 42 years old) for publishing papers of major contribution in their research fields. No more than five junior researchers in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences receive this award each year.
In his acknowledgement speech at the award ceremony, Tim expressed immense gratitude to his academic advisors Samuel Epstein and Acrisio Pires for their guidance and support throughout his graduate school career at U-M.
