Carly Marten Receives Raoul Wallenberg Humanitarian Award
Graduating senior Carly Marten has been awarded the Raoul Wallenberg Humanitarian Award from the LSA Honors Program for her thesis, “A Case Study of Circumcision Narratives of Women in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia,” and for her broader achievements. Carly will receive the $1,500 prize and a certificate signed by the Dean of the College and the President of the University.
Carly is the 2019 recipient U-M’s Wallenberg Fellowship, awarded earlier this semester. The award is given each spring to a graduating senior with exceptional accomplishment for service to the public good.
Carly will graduate from U-M next week with majors in gender and health, and linguistics. Her work and her plans for the fellowship are featured in the U-M Record.
