Nick Ellis, Emeritus Professor of Psychology and Linguistics, was awarded the 2026 Distinguished Scholar award from the European Second Language Association (EuroSLA). Established in 2014, this award recognizes outstanding scholarship and contribution to the field of second language research, especially in a European context. EuroSLA celebrated Dr. Ellis’s dedication in the field of usage-based approaches to language learning, presenting him with this award at EuroSLA 2026, which was held in Lisbon, Portugal, from June 24-27th, 2026.
