Assistant Professor Huteng Dai was recently part of a panel on “Future Directions in Deep Phonology” at AMP 2025, hosted at UC Berkeley from September 25–27. He was joined by Gašper Beguš (UC Berkeley), Youngah Do (Hong Kong University), Volya Kapatsinski (University of Oregon), Joe Pater (UMass Amherst), Mike Hammond (University of Arizona), and Jason Shaw (Yale University). The panel featured conversations about how computational models could reshape phonological theory and methods.
