About
Bailey Flannery is a doctoral candidate in English Language & Literature. She researches how public storytelling can help communities navigate environmental and political crisis, with a focus on the Great Lakes region. Her projects include a comparative study of medieval English and contemporary American media depictions of cataclysmic floods, as well as the podcasts Detroit River Stories and Getting Medieval Lit (forthcoming 2026), the latter of which she began developing through the Modern Language Association’s Public Humanities Incubator. From 2024-2026, she also served as the Michigan Quarterly Review's Nonfiction Editor.
