Claudia Creed is a British and American poet, theatre-maker, and educator from Newbury, England. She received her BA with honors in Social Studies from Harvard University, and her MFA in poetry at the Helen Zell Writers' Program at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she received a 2023 Hopwood Award for Graduate Poetry and the 2024 Theodore Roethke and Michael R. Gutterman awards in poetry. Her work was selected as a finalist for the Connecticut Poetry Society's 2023 experimental poetry prize. She has worked as a writer and performer for The Goat Exchange theater company, and trained in clown at L'Ecole Philippe Gaulier.
Research Interests: the Metaphysical Poets; contemporary queer and trans poetics; aesthetic philosophy and critical theory; language poetry and nonsense poetry; riddles.
