About the Event
The Department of Communication and Media hosts a commencement ceremony each year at the end of the winter term which is called Spring Commencement.
- This ceremony takes place on the Friday before the university-wide Spring Commencement ceremony. University academic calendars can be found on the Office of the Registrar's website for reference.
- During the ceremony, students will will walk across the stage and have their names read aloud.
- Students do not receive their diplomas at this ceremony; diplomas will be mailed by the Office of the Registrar to students’ permanent addresses.
- The ceremony lasts for approximately 1.5 hours.
- Ticket information for the department ceremony is sent to candidates for graduation in January. Seating for the event is on a first-come, first-served basis.
- In order to participate in the ceremony, students must have a graduation date from the previous fall term through the following summer term.
- Students are limited to a maximum of four guest tickets. The department cannot facilitate requests for additional tickets.
