They are encouraged to attend a Communication and Media Major Information Session. They may also reach out to commadvisor@umich.edu with specific questions.

Information Sessions
Group information sessions, led by our peer adivors, are offered on a monthly basis throughout the academic year. Sessions will include expanded information on prerequisites, major requirements, the declaration process, and student experiences as a Commnication and Media major. Please see COMM Advising Calendar for upcoming dates.
Visiting Campus
- Meet Ups - if you'd like to visit our office and speak with a departmental advisor after a campus tour, please contact our office ahead of time to arrange using commadvisor@umich.edu.
- Peer Advising - our peer advisors are available to meet with prospective students and answer questions about the majors, its requirements, and various opportunities at the department.
- Move Ins - during undergraduate move-ins in August, stop by our office to meet our staff and become acquainted with the department.
- Our building - North Quad is located at 105 South State Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48109. Our office is on the 5th floor of the academic tower, room 5370.
Advising Tips for First Year Communication and Media Students

- Consider enrolling in COMM 101 and/or COMM 102
- Strive for the William J. Branstrom Freshman Prize, awarded to first-year students in their first-term who rank in the upper five percent of their class: Honors and Awards
