Scott W. Campbell, PhD is the Constance F. and Arnold C. Pohs Professor of Telecommunication at the University of Michigan. His research examines the meanings, uses, and consequences of mobile and social media and communication in everyday life. He uses communication theory as a way of bridging psychological and sociological understandings of the self and how it relates to society. Campbell’s work is published in Communication Theory, Journal of Communication, Human Communication Research, Communication Monographs, New Media & Society, Mobile Media & Communication, and other venues (see Google Scholar for full profile). He has also co-edited two books (with Rich Ling) for the Mobile Communication Research Series and collaborated with the Pew Internet & American Life Project on a national study of teens and mobile communication. Campbell is presently Associate Editor for Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication has served as Associate Editor of Human Communication Research. He is/was on the editorial boards for Journal of Communication, Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, New Media & Society, Mobile Media & Communication, Journal of Broadcast and Electronic Media, Annals of the International Communication Assoication, Perhspectives in Psychological Science, and other venues.
