Kristen Leer, a Ph.D. candidate in the Communication and Media department, has been selected as one of six finalists for the Anti-Racist Digital Research Institute (ARDRI). The ARDRI is a collaborative summer institute and mini-grant program ($5,000) that assists scholars in developing research projects committed to using reparative frameworks that counteract historical and ongoing harm, particularly focusing on communities disproportionately affected by historic and systemic racism and neglect.

Leer's proposed project is titled, "Archiving the Digital Voices of Black Horror and True Crime Podcasters." The goal of the proposed project is to build a publicly-accessible digital archive consisting of oral histories that documents the labor, narratives, and cultural contributions of Black creators in the horror and true crime podcasting space.

Congratulations, Kristen!
