Catharine Neafie Kellogg Professorship and Arthur F. Thurnau Professor Susan Douglas has recently had an essay published in the new book, Reading Media: How to Do Texual Analysis, edited by Jonathan Gray and Daphnew Gershon.
This book offers methods to analyze wide-ranging media, from film and TV to TikTok videos and video games. It aims to both reaffirm and renew texual analysis as a way to engage with media environments and cultural objects.
Douglas' essay is included as the second chapter of the book, and serves to introduce the foundational method of texual analysis to the reader.
