Gas Adsorption

NOVA 4200e:

The NOVA 4200e allows fully automated multi-point gas adsorption measurements for up to 4 samples at a time. Up to 200 data points (100 adsorption points and 100 desorption points) can be collected and analyzed. Ultimate vacuum achievable is 10 millitorr with a minimum pressure resolution of 0.016 torr. The minimum relative pressure (P/Po) resolution using nitrogen gas is 2 x 10-5. The maximum analysis time is 30 hours of uninterrupted operation with liquid nitrogen dewar.

Autosorb 1-MP:

The Autosorb 1-MP allows fully automated multi-point gas adsorption measurements for full micropore characterization and surface area measurements. A turbomolecular pump allows adsorption data to be collected at relative pressures (P/Po) as low as 1 x 10-7 and is suited for low surface area analysis with krypton gas. Up to 200 data points (100 adsorption points and 100 desorption points) can be collected and analyzed. The maximum analysis time is 60 hours of uninterrupted operation with liquid nitrogen dewar.

MasterPrep Degasser:

Consistent and reliable surface area results depend upon proper sample preparation and procedures. The MasterPrep Degasser is a 6 station system for vacuum degassing of samples prior to analysis. Each station is individually programmable for ramp/soak temperature programs from ambient to 400 °C in steps of 1 °C.

HPVA-100 (VTI Scientific Instruments):

The HPVA 100 allows semi automated multi-point gas adsorption measurements at high pressures (≤90 bar) of gases such as hydrogen, methane, and carbon dioxide. All valves in the manifold are pneumatically operated high pressure valves. Sample cells are made of heavy wall SS316 tubing and connections are made with either ¼” VCR or ¼” VCO fittings. Vacuum is provided by a turbomolecular pump backed by a diaphragm pump. Sample temperature is maintained by immersion in a constant temperature bath.
